Stay in the Present Moment

January 29, 2014 12 Comments

Staying present is a simple concept and something many of us know about, however, it’s much easier to understand than it is to practice.  I’ve been recently noticing my own tendency to either reflect on the past (with a sense of regret) or think about the future (with a sense of worry), neither of which are all that helpful or healthy.

What if we stayed in the present moment, embraced it, and chose to live our lives there as much as possible?  We could eliminate lots of needless suffering, stress, and anxiety.

Check out the video below where I talk about how we can live more of our lives in the present moment.  Feel free to leave a comment here on my blog about how this relates to you and what you do specifically to stay present.

Be Kind To Yourself

January 22, 2014 8 Comments

Being kind to ourselves is one of many things in life that is simple, but not always so easy.  I posted a quote on Facebook last week from Brené Brown along these lines, “Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love,” which got a lot of response.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this important topic for many years, especially in the past few months.  And while I understand the importance and value of being kind toward myself, it isn’t always easy to practice.  However, when we are kind to ourselves, it has a positive impact on every aspect of our lives and on everyone around us.

Check out the video below where I talk about how we can be more kind toward ourselves.  Feel free to leave a comment about how this relates to you and what you do to practice self-kindness (or any questions you have) here on my blog.

Trust Yourself

January 8, 2014 13 Comments

One of my main focuses for this New Year is trust!  So often, especially at this time of year, we put our attention on all the things we think we “should” do to make ourselves “better.”  What if we made a commitment to listen to ourselves, trust our intuition, and trust that things are unfolding exactly as they are meant to?

This is, like many things in life, easier said than done, of course. In this video blog I address this important dynamic of life, especially as it relates to the New Year.

Check out the video and feel free to leave a comment about how it relates to you (or any questions you have) here on my blog.
